Office plants & workplace greenery

Planting designed into the furniture.

Not pots placed on desks. Troughs built into joinery and workstation spines, planted as a continuous run, with each plant sitting in a removable inner pot so any one of them can be swapped without disturbing the arrangement.

Species are chosen for office conditions — overhead light, air conditioning and irregular watering. Snake Plant and its variegated forms, Aglaonema, ZZ Plant and the Pothos family all hold up well.

Tell us about the space and we will tell you what it would need. Pieces for individual desks are handled as corporate gifting.

Indoor plant styling — homes, verandas & balconies

Verandas, balconies and passages.

Kolkata flats tend to give you a veranda, a passage or a balcony rather than a garden. Those are good spaces to plant — they are sheltered, they get one reliable direction of light, and they are seen every day.

The work is planting design rather than construction: what will survive in that particular light, in what vessels, at what heights, and how it will look from inside the room as well as outside it.

Every space is different, so we visit, then quote.

Common questions.

Who offers office plant styling in Kolkata?

The Plant Edit by Sweta does office plant styling and workplace greenery in Kolkata, delivering across the city. That means choosing species for the light and the air conditioning a room actually has, then arranging them so the planting reads as part of the room — troughs built into joinery and workstation runs, with removable inner pots so any one plant can be swapped. Pieces for individual desks are handled as corporate gifting.

What plants are good for an office desk?

Snake Plant, ZZ Plant and the Pothos family. All three cope with overhead lighting, air conditioning and being forgotten over a weekend. For a desk, small beats impressive — anything that needs regular attention will not get it. See the plants we keep →

Which plants survive air conditioning?

Air conditioning dries the air and keeps the temperature flat, which suits tough foliage and punishes anything that wants humidity. Snake Plant, ZZ Plant, Aglaonema and the Pothos family all hold up. The usual mistake is watering on a schedule — in an air-conditioned room the soil dries more slowly than it looks.

What plants grow in low light in a Kolkata flat?

Peace Lily, Aglaonema, Money Plant, ZZ Plant and Snake Plant all manage without direct sun, which most Kolkata flats cannot offer anyway. Kolkata's humidity works in your favour here — the real risk indoors is overwatering, not dry air. See the plants we keep →
